  • New York Gilbert & Sullivan Players' Golden Jubilee, 10/19 at 7:30pm

Symphony Space's Peter Jay Sharp Theatre, 2537 Broadway at 95th St

Join Founder Albert Bergeret and the Company of New York Gilbert & Sullivan Players for a grand opening of NYGASP’s 50th anniversary season!

Reserve general admission tickets for two spectacular events on October 19 at the company’s historical Upper Westside home, Symphony Space, where we will celebrate half a century’s worth of partnership. The entire Jubilee will be completely FREE OF CHARGE to our audience.

At 3PM, Albert will lead the audience through a musical and visual history of New York Gilbert & Sullivan Players, interwoven with the history of the Gilbert & Sullivan Repertoire itself, with performances from veterans of the NYGASP stage! We’ll take a break for dinner, and then return for a 7:30PM evening concert with the NYGASP Company and our full orchestra, featuring a 1st half of Maestro Bergeret’s favorite selections from the G&S repertoire and a 2nd half entirely composed of our tour de force signature challenge - audience requests performed impromptu by the Company with the full orchestra!

Don’t miss this chance to celebrate with the Company that has carried the torch of professional Gilbert & Sullivan in the United States for a third of the repertoire’s existence! Our honoree is Albert Bergeret himself, who has dedicated his life’s work to giving vitality to the living legacy of Gilbert & Sullivan and has led the NYGASP Company every step of the way.
